ChristCare Library

Gloria Dei has a library of books for ChristCare Groups to use. Any book that has a name after it in parenthesis, ie (Heather), is owned by the person whose name is in the parenthesis. It can be borrowed directly from that person's personal library if they will contact the owner. All other materials can be found in the ChrsitCare Library which is in the Boardroom. There is a sign-out sheet which will allow us to know when and to whom the book was last checked out.

ChristCare Group Leaders

ChristCare Group leaders are Gloria Dei members who are selected, trained, commissioned, and supervised to lead ChristCare Groups. Leaders commit to serve for at least two years. They complete 40 hours of training conducted by ChristCare Equippers, and they faithfully participate in Support, Encouragement, Accountability Group meetings that provide ongoing support for ChristCare Group Leaders.

What do ChristCare Leaders do?

1) Christ Care leaders pray regularly for group members.

2) They prepare for and lead the four activities that ChristCare groups do: community building and care, Biblical equipping, prayer and worship, and missional service.

3) ChristCare Group Leaders make sure that group members receive the care they need. Generally this is during the group meeting, but sometimes it can be outside of the meeting time.

4) They are in contact with group members. If someone misses a meeting they follow up with them. If there are changes in the meeting time or place, the ChristCare Group Leader communicates that with members. They also communicate encouragement and concern between group meetings.

5) ChristCare Group Leaders work with members and Equippers to bring new members into the group. They also encourage group members to grow in their relationship with each other and with God.

6) They recruit and work with an Apprentice ChristCare Group Leader. This helps assure the continued growth of ChristCare Group Ministry at Gloria Dei.

7) All groups eventually end. ChristCare Group Leaders help their group close and give birth. They lead them through the emotional journey of ending their time together and moving into the new ministries God has for them.
